1. What ad formats are available on Jodel?

There are three main ad formats on Jodel:

Boosted Post is a 24-hour post that can be text, image, video, or a poll with preset options. Commenting and replies can be activated. The ad can be targeted nationwide or city-specific. For up-to-date pricing, contact the Improve Media team.

Display is a non-commentable image or video ad priced by impressions and suitable for longer campaigns.

Native Display combines image and text and looks like a typical Jodel post. It is also priced by impressions and does not include commenting.

In addition to these, brands can open their own Commercial Channel on Jodel to post content under chosen usernames.

2. I want to advertise on Jodel – where do I start?

Improve Media holds the exclusive rights to sell Jodel advertising in Finland, so all campaigns are run through us.

3. How much does Jodel advertising cost?

For display formats, the gross CPM for vertical images or videos ranges from €7–€10 depending on targeting (age/gender/location) and format (standard or native display). Targeting costs €2 per category.

4. We’re a non-profit – do we get a discount?

Yes. Non-profit and public service advertisers receive a 40% discount on all ad formats.

5. Why is my ad cropped in the main feed?

Although the 1080×1920 format displays in full on the image feed, it gets cropped in the text feed. Boosted posts are cropped by 10% (384 px), and display ads by 12% (403 px). Be sure to center your key content and avoid placing important elements near the top or bottom edges.

6. Can I advertise on Jodel without comments?

Yes. You can run a display campaign with no commenting. For Boosted Posts, enabling comments is optional and can be turned off.

7. How many young adults can you reach on Jodel?

Jodel reaches hundreds of thousands of Finnish users each month – 85% of them are aged 18–35.

8. Is targeting possible on Jodel?

Yes, targeting is available by age, gender, and location. Each targeting option adds €2 to the price.

9. What’s the ideal video length for Jodel?

The best video completion rates (VTR) are seen with short videos of six seconds or less. VTR drops significantly with longer content.

The maximum video length is 15 seconds.

Note: Jodel videos autoplay silently, so users must tap to hear audio. Subtitles are highly recommended for any spoken content.

10. We’d like to allow comments, but we’ve never advertised on Jodel – can we get help?

Improve Media offers Boosted Post trainings, included in the price of larger Boosted Post campaigns. Advertisers receive the training materials, and the session covers both content strategy and technical aspects of engaging in conversation on Jodel, with case examples.
